Grade A Productions Case Study

Grade A Productions Summary - Grade A Productions is the record label founded by Chicago rapper, Lil Bibby, and his brother George “G-Money” Dickinson.
Bibby and G-Money launched the label in 2017 after they discovered Chicago artist Juice Wrld and his July 2017 hit track “Lucid Dreams” on Soundcloud, which officially released under Grade A Productions on May 23, 2018 alongside his debut studio album, Goodbye and Good Riddance.
Grade A Productions has welcomed many diverse and talented artists, such as The Kid Laroi, Clever, and Seezyn.

Business Overview - Grade A Productions aim to sign different artists to publish their music under their name meaning that they will increase the artists views/listeners, their goal is to sign newer and older music artists and to expand their signed artists in order to make profit by investing in their artists production of their content whilst taking a percentage of their earnings making profit.

Sales and Marketing - Grade A Productions aims to market their artists by releasing their content with their label on it meaning that they have contributed in their investment of their content whether if its their music production or their video production. Their profits come from the artists that they have signed meaning that their relationship with their artists that they have signed must work as the artists will also be gaining profit from this as their production value will rise and they can create better content for their audience/viewers.

Staff and Management - Their staff consist of Lil Bibby and G-Money meaning that they both manage the company and have links with all the artists that they have signed giving them a more personal connection with their signed artists. They both are music producers meaning that they are able to aid in their productions either within the artists music or videos.

Planning - They plan to sign as many popular artists as possible to make profits and to gain popularity, they main profits comes from their most popular artists Juice Wrld and The Kid Laroi who both are in the music industry who create Hip-Hop music published under the Grade A Productions tag. Their profits come from their listeners/viewers mainly through The Kid Laroi as he is able to create content for his audience whereas for Juice Wrld he is not able to make new content as he has passed away in December of 2019 but is still able to provide content as before he had passed away he was able to record hundreds of songs that is slowly getting released due to Grade A Productions ownership of his content.

Analysis - Grade A Productions gain profits from their artists that they sign to the label and they invest in the artists success whether if its through their music production or video production their label is able to take a percentage of the profit as they invest in their production. The label company is still planning to grow as they plan on signing newer/older artists and growing their popularity through their connections.

Conclusion
I will use this company as an inspiration as this company is similar to my business plan in terms of the product and skills needed for it. Grade A Productions plan for signing different artists will be used in my business as Phantom Productions will need to sign different artists and producers in order to sell quality products such as music videos and music tracks.
